Sports stars and actors will be featured at “SportzBox Weekend” at Smokin’ Joe Frazier’s SportzBox in Atlantic City, NJ, from June 12-14. There are a few separate events scheduled for the weekend.
Billed as “part Hollywood Squares and Family Feud,” the weekend’s main event “Champs and Stars Show” on June 13 will feature Joe Frazier, Joe Piscopo, Vincent Pastore, Gianni Russo (“The Godfather”), Vinny Paz, Dan Grimaldi (“The Sopranos”), football players Bill Bergey and Garo Yepremian, and ice skater Tonya Harding, among others.
Al Bernstein and Dave Bontempo will host the event, while comedian Jeff Pirrami will act as a referee. Tickets are priced at $100.
Kicking off the event on June 12 are a Red Carpet Parade and Ribbon Cutting ceremony with most of the aforementioned participants and the promise of others. Tickets for Red Carpet Celebrity Party cost $125, which benefits Gilda’s Club, a cancer charity founded by Gene Wilder in honor of his late wife, comedian Gilda Radner.
There will also be a Celebrity Golf Tournament on June 14 at the Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in nearby Galloway, NJ, with tickets available for $350.
