Motörhead tour hits North American for late summer run

Veteran of heavy metal Motörhead has carved out a North American niche from its international touring schedule this year. The British trio’s recently announced trek will kick off August 28 at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN, and continue through October 9 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV.

The 24-date venture includes an August 30 performance at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL, a September 9 gig at Roseland Ballroom in New York, NY, a September 18 concert at Warehouse Live in Houston, TX, and an October 5 show at Warfield Theatre in San Francisco, CA.

Five Canadian dates are also on the calendar, beginning with a September 2 event at Polson Pier in Toronto, ON. Additional shows follow on September 3 at Metropolis in Montreal, QC; September 28 at MacEwan Hall Ballroom in Calgary, AB; September 29 at Edmonton Event Centre in Edmonton, AB; and October 1 at Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC.

Tickets are already available for select dates of the tour, with more onsales coming up and additional North American tour dates expected. Ticketing information and itinerary updates are available on Motörhead’s official Web site.

Rockabilly trio Reverend Horton Heat will be the main tour support, and Southern metal outfit Nashville Pussy will open throughout the late summer and early fall run.

Motörhead is touring behind its 19th studio album “Motörizer,” released August 2008. The band has spent much of this past year touring internationally and will precede and follow the North American tour with more European and UK performances.
