A stage collapse forced the cancellation of the June 20 show of The Monsters of Rock tour in the Siberian town of Novosibirsk. The tour features hard rockers Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Kingdom Come and the Rasmus.
The collapse occurred a couple of hours before the start of the concert at Sparktak Stadium in Novosibirsk, RUS. No injuries were sustained, but band equipment already on the stage suffered substantial damages.
“The bulky musical and lighting equipment that all the participants have brought along must have been too heavy, and the metallic support beams just gave way,” festival workers told Interfax, according to MosNews.com.
Ticketholders are awaiting word on refunds for the 12,000 tickets that were sold, ranging from $32 to $260.
The hard rock tour, which began on June 14 in St. Petersburg, RUS, at SCC Arena, has three shows left, including the final performance on June 28 at Olympiiski in Moscow, RUS.
