Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne will support his 2008 album “Gossip in the Grain” with a third U.S. tour leg this fall. The 11-date outing will offer backing from a symphony orchestra on select dates, as well as various charitable and environmentally conscious options for ticket buyers as presales start this week.
Acclaimed rapper and actor Mos Def hits the tour trail over the weekend for his latest venture, the five-week Ecstatic Tour, which launches August 1 in Minneapolis, MN. Jazz vocal quartet The Manhattan Transfer is scheduled to perform a benefit concert this September for the 25th anniversary of the Society of Singers.

AC/DC has a handful of concert onsales coming up on its latest North American tour leg. August 1 onsales are approaching for five new performance dates, set for October 3 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV; October 6 at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY; October 8 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO; October 10 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA; and November 6 at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX. AC/DC rocks the stage next on July 31 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and the hard rock titans have North American shows booked through November 12 at Foro Sol in Mexico City, MEX.
Senses Fail will follow its summer-long stint on the Vans Warped Tour with a fall 2009 headline tour. The 26-date trek picks up September 30 at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY, and ends October 31 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. Other performances are on the books for October 2 at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, RI; October 6 at Blender Theatre at gramercy in New York, NY; October 15 at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; October 20 at The Hangar in New Orleans, LA; and October 24 at The Marquee in Tulsa, OK.
Trivium has also been occupied on the road this summer, as part of the 2009 Mayhem Festival, and will also follow that run with a fall headline tour. The one-month outing launches September 11 at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY, and ends October 11 at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Along the way, the group is scheduled for gig stops on September 18 at Orbit Room in Grand Rapids, MI; September 25 at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR; September 29 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA; and October 7 at Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi, TX.
Chris Botti has filled in a substantial portion of his late 2009 concert calendar with a residency at the Blue Note in New York, NY. The performances will run from December 14 through January 3, 2010, without any scheduled nights off. According to Botti’s schedule, he’ll perform two sets per night at the Blue Note, at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Botti has also filled in a number of other performance dates on his itinerary for 2009 and 2010, with U.S. dates booked, so far, through May 14 at Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach, VA.
Bill Cosby has filled in more events on his 2009-2010 performance calendar. The classic comedian’s next show is July 31 at South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, BC, and more dates lined up through May 15 at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. Some of his other forthcoming dates are set for October 1-2 at Casino Rama Entertainment Centre in Rama, ON; November 27 at Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas, NV; March 37 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL; and April 11 at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ.
