Rock band Collective Soul will continue touring through late summer after completing a current co-headline venture with singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw. The new 23-date outing launches August 6 at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN, and closes September 12 at Peppermill Concert Hall in West Wendover, NV.

The five-week trek will cross the United States from coast to coast, with highlights including an August 10 concert at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, an August 20 show at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ, an August 25 performance at the Fillmore in New York, NY, and a September 2 event at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX, among other dates.

The national itinerary includes a single performance north of the border on August 15 at Chatham Rockstock in Chatham, ON. Tickets for the festival appearance and most other concert dates on the tour are already available.

The late summer venture will feature a rotating cast of supporting bands, though not all acts will appear each night of the tour. The year-old alt-rock act Safety Suit is on the billing along with indie rock musician Ryan Star and hard rock quartet Black Stone Cherry. More information about the nightly line-up is available on Collective Soul’s official Web site.

Collective Soul’s headline tour precedes the release of its eighth studio album, “Collective Soul (Rabbit),” due August 25. The previous effort “Afterwords,” released in August 2007, failed to chart on the Billboard 200, though the band has several other multi-Platinum and Gold records under its belt.

Collective Soul’s tour with DeGraw began with a June 22 concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH, and two take the stage together next this evening, July 1, at Cowboys in Calgary, AB. The pair’s final co-headline performance is scheduled for July 15 at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
