Chart-topping rapper Lil Wayne launches his America’s Most Wanted Music Festival tour tonight, July 27, at Toyota Pavilion in Scranton, PA, with a newly extended itinerary. The summer-long outing is now set to stretch for more than 30 dates before wrapping on September 6 at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL.

The trek was originally scheduled to close August 23 at Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX, before ten new dates were announced. Some of the latest additions to Weezy’s schedule include gigs on August 24 at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO, September 2 at Marcus Amphitheatre in Milwaukee, WI; and September 4 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC.

Tickets for the entire tour are currently on sale. As previously announced, the America’s Most Wanted tour features support from Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy, along with rising star Drake.

Lil Wayne is still awaiting the release of his seventh studio album, “Rebirth.” The disc was originally scheduled to surface in April, but no longer has a projected release date. His eighth studio album “Tha Carter IV” is also reportedly awaiting release in either late 2009 or early 2010.

Earlier this year, Lil Wayne was on the road for the latter half of his 2008-2009 I Am Music Tour, which featured support from T-Pain, Keyshia Cole, Keri Hilson and Gym Class Heroes during its various legs. Staying active on the road and in the studio hasn’t kept the rapper out of trouble, though. Among other legal woes, Weezy faced a $1.3 million lawsuit for cancelling three concerts at the same venue in Rochester, NY, within a matter of months.
