Depeche Mode returned to the stage on August 16 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, after cancelling another show due to singer Dave Gahan’s need for vocal rest under doctor’s orders.

The August 14 gig at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in San Diego, CA, was the latest cancellation, which will not be rescheduled due the band’s busy itinerary. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Similarly, the band’s August 12 performance at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, was also cancelled with no make-up date planned this year. Fans were advised to get refunds at the point of purchase.

Depeche Mode suffered 12 European cancellations this spring and summer while Gahan recovered from a tumor being removed from his bladder.

The British group is expected to return to the West Coast next year for live performances, according to promoter Live Nation. “We are incredibly disappointed to not be able to perform for our fans tonight in San Diego,” Gahan has said on the group’s Web site. “We hope to be back soon to play for all our fans in the area.”

Depeche Mode’s next gig is the second of two nights at the Hollywood Bowl on August 17.
