After shutting down at the end of last year after 20 years in Manhattan, the Knitting Factory will find new life September 9 in a smaller space in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn in the former space of the Luna Lounge. It will showcase an eclectic mix of national, international and local acts, as well as art and cultural events.

Brooklyn band Les Savy Fav will play opening night. Shows to follow include Rasputina, Titus Andronicus, The Raincoats, Melissa Auf der Maur, A Wilhelm Scream, Maps and Atlases, No Neck Blues Band, and Smokey’s Secret Family, with more to be announced.

In addition to music, the club will host special events including Williamsburg Fashion Week’s Fashion and Arts Premiere, the Miss LEZ Pageant and the Royal Flush Film Festival.

“I’m ecstatic and proud to see Knitting Factory make its next impact to the music world by stepping into an artistic community such as Williamsburg,” said Morgan Margolis, CEO and president of Knitting Factory Entertainment, in a statement. “I’m further thrilled with the team of talented people that we’ve assembled in this move and personally honored to be part of this group.”

The Knitting Factory team includes Bruce Duff, director of marketing/promotions; Chris White and Chris Diaz, talent buyers; Ellen Jacobs, event booker; and Shay Vishawadia, vice president/East Coast Operations.
