Former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul has found a new gig, albeit for one night only, hosting the “VH1 Divas” concert on September 17 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, NY. Jordin Sparks has been added to the already announced diva lineup of Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus.

The program will be a reunion for Abdul and former American Idol winners Clarkson and Sparks. Tickets for the live television event are available by e-mailing Nia Mack at [email protected] or calling 212-846-7324.

“VH1 Divas” premiered in 1998 at the Beacon Theatre in New York. Over the years, some of the more than 50 divas have included Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Cher, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan. The show is just coming off a four-year hiatus.

“VH1 Divas” is also a charity event benefiting the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, which brings music to public schools. The charity has raised more than $43 million over the past decade for musical instruments for 1,600 public schools in 100 cities and over 1.2 million school children have benefited from the program.
