U2 looks into the future for its next tour dates, as rappers Trey Songz and Mario just have to wait until next week to launch their latest trek. These items and more in the daily tour recap for September 24, as compiled by TicketNews.

If you’re the sort who likes to plan ahead, today’s top touring news item is for you. Rock phenomenon U2 is just a couple weeks into its North American tour and has another month of shows still left on the books. But the Irish quartet is already looking ahead to fall 2010, with a dozen concerts already lined up for next year’s late summer and fall season.

The new round of concerts marks U2’s return to Europe after a series of sell-outs there earlier this season on the first leg of the 360 Tour. The advance schedule has the veteran rockers booked from August 2 at Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, GER, through October 2 at Coimbra Stadium in Coimbra, POR. In the more immediate future, U2 will take the stage tonight, September 24, at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, while the 2009 U.S. and Canada concert series wraps on October 28 at BC Place in Vancouver, BC.

While U2 tops the day’s tour announcements, other recording artists have updated their own concert calendars. Read highlights of those updates in brief below:

Trey Songz and Mario launch their Live Nation and BET-driven 106 & Park Tour early next week. More than a dozen dates have been fully confirmed so far, beginning with a September 29 show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA, and continuing through October 21 at the Murat Egyptian Room in Indianapolis, IN. Other revealed dates and venues include October 5 at the House of Blues in Houston, TX; October 9 at Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA; and October 16 at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO.

Richie Havens will be a fixture on the road over the coming months as he performs across the United States. His current schedule picks up afresh with a September 26 concert with Jefferson Starship at Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, LA. His final show for 2009 is currently set for November 21 at Miller Center for the Arts in Reading, PA, but he’ll be touring again as of January 14 at Lyric Theatre in Stuart, FL, with more shows set through May 13 at Carriage House Theatre in Saratoga, CA.

Joan Osborne is set for a couple solid months on the road for a late 2009 U.S. tour. The singer-songwriter’s primary schedule will keep her on stage from October 15 at Laxson Auditorium in Chico, CA, through November 15 at the Staller Center for the Arts in Stony Brook, NY. However, Osborne also has a couple concerts that fall outside of those tour parameters, with her next concert on September 25 at The Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY, and a final 2009 show on December 4 with Lucy Kaplansky at Peter Norton Symphony Space in New York, NY.
