U2 looks into the future for its next tour dates, as rappers Trey Songz and Mario just have to wait until next week to launch their latest trek. These items and more in the daily tour recap for September 24, as compiled by TicketNews.

If you’re the sort who likes to plan ahead, today’s top touring news item is for you. Rock phenomenon U2 is just a couple weeks into its North American tour and has another month of shows still left on the books. But the Irish quartet is already looking ahead to fall 2010, with a dozen concerts already lined up for next year’s late summer and fall season.

The new round of concerts marks U2’s return to Europe after a series of sell-outs there earlier this season on the first leg of the 360 Tour. The advance schedule has the veteran rockers booked from August 2 at Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, GER, through October 2 at Coimbra Stadium in Coimbra, POR. In the more immediate future, U2 will take the stage tonight, September 24, at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, while the 2009 U.S. and Canada concert series wraps on October 28 at BC Place in Vancouver, BC.

While U2 tops the day’s tour announcements, other recording artists have updated their own concert calendars. Read highlights of those updates in brief below:
