Hard rock troupe KISS and the alt-country kings of Wilco have both expanded their North American tour plans. Those dates and more are in the daily tour recap for October 8, as compiled by TicketNews.

Country starlet Taylor Swift isn’t letting a little thing like having an acceptance speech crashed on live television hold her back. The 19-year-old musician just announced plans to continue her headlining Fearless Tour in 2010.

Meanwhile, the long-unsung heavy metal band Anvil is finally getting a shot at super stardom. The Canadian crew will launch its first major tour in more than a decade early next year, with a 30-date tour of North America on the books.

Those are the complete tour itineraries and reports for this Thursday. Plenty of other artists have expanded their live performance schedules, though, and those highlights for the day are outlined in brief below:

KISS will march on through the middle of December with five new concert dates for 2009. The hard rock icons and marketing geniuses were originally set to tour through December 6 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. The calendar now continues with gigs on December 8 at BOK Center in Tulsa, OK; December 10 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO; December 11 at Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA; December 13 at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, PA; and December 15 at Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. KISS’ next tour stop is set for October 9 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

Wilco will perform another leg of tour dates in the U.S. and Canada in early 2010, even as the band continues with its current fall itinerary. Fifteen new dates are on the books from February 7 at Adams Center in Missoula, MT, through March 3 at Halifax Forum Arena in Halifax, NS. Stops include February 10 at Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA; February 17 at TCU Place in Saskatoon, SK; and February 24 at Centennial Hall in London, ON. The current tour continues October 8 at Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, TX, and ends October 18-19 at UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL.

Joan Rivers will give a taste of her acerbic wit to nearly 20 markets across the U.S. and Canada on a fall 2009 comedy tour. The venture continues tonight, October 8, at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York, NY, where Rivers will also return for shows on October 27-28. Dates are scheduled through November 14 at Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren, MI. Next year, Rivers has just two shows slated so far: February 20 at Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, CA, and June 4 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, FL.

Imogen Heap’s electronic rock showcase will travel through 11 cities on her November tour of the U.S. and Canada. The one-month jaunt kicks off November 9 at Music Box at Fonda in Los Angeles, CA, and concludes December 1 at Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Along the way, Heap will also perform on November 12 at In the Venue in Salt Lake City, UT; November 18 at Granada Theater in Dallas, TX; November 24 at Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL; and November 26 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, ON.

Son Volt already announced plans for a November tour of the U.S., running from November 5 at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO, through November 21 at Rhythm & Brews in Chattanooga, TN. After that, the band will push further west with a batch of December event dates, just recently released. The second leg of the late-year venture starts December 4 at Neumos in Seattle, WA, and concludes December 12 at Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. Some of the other concert plans include shows on December 6 at WOW Hall in Eugene, OR; December 9 at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA; and December 11 at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
