Las Vegas will be getting a little country infusion later this year when Garth Brooks comes out of retirement for a residency at the Wynn’s Encore Theater. Speculation about Brooks’ intentions have been mounting recently and were thrown into a fever pitch in the past few days when his plans for a special press conference coincided with one announced by the Wynn.

In other news, Lady GaGa finally has a solid North America tour, it seems. The singer was forced to cancel a co-headlining run with Kanye West, but will hit the streets in late November for a tour of her own. Support will be provided by up-and-comer Kid Cudi.

Less Than Jake has expanded its new plans for a late 2009 tour of the U.S. by a dozen dates. The original itinerary ran from November 13 at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA, through November 28 at Murray Theater in Murray, UT. The latest concert additions follow from November 30 at Showbox at The Market in Seattle, WA, through December 12 at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Gig stops are also confirmed for December 1 at Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR; December 3 at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, CA; December 6 at the House of Blues in San Diego, CA; December 10 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA.

Mew previously confirmed plans to tour across Europe from October through November, but now the indie rockers will hit the U.S. and Canada for a brief North American tour. Only four concerts are on the books at this point: November 30 at Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, PA; December 2 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA; December 4 at Webster Hall in New York, NY; and December 6 at The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto, ON. The overseas outing launches October 28 at Grunspan in Hamburg, GER, and concludes November 28 at KB Hallen in Frederiksberg, DEN.

Monsters of Folk are extending their time on the North American tour circuit with three more gigs. The dates have been tacked onto the end of the supergroup’s current routing, which continues October 15 at Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA. The national tour will now end after performances on November 10 at Landmark Theater in Richmond, VA; November 11 at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA; and November 13 at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, TX. A handful of international performances will close out the month as the band plays from November 17 at Troxy in London, ENG, through November 22 at the Crossing Border Festival in Antwerp, BEL.

Chevelle will stay on the road later that expected with 10 new November and December concert dates. The band already announced plans to tour from late October through mid-November, but now the music will continue for a couple extra weeks. New shows are lined up from November 17 at Back Booth in Orlando, FL, through December 3 at Live Wire Music Hall in Savannah, GA, followed by a couple special event appearances. Highlights of the latest updates include shows on November 18 at Common Grounds in Gainesville, FL; November 25 at Hooligans Music Hall in Jacksonville, NC; and November 28 at The National in Richmond, VA.

John Prine is prepped for the road with a 2009-2010 concert calendar that picks up October 16 at the Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver, BC, through February 27 at Bass Concert Hall in Austin, TX. Prine has events slated for October 23 at Pantages Playhouse Theatre in Winnipeg, MB; November 18 at Ardrey Auditorium in Flagstaff, AZ; and December 11-12 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA. Next year, his schedule shows sessions on February 19 at Merriam Theater in Philadelphia, PA; February 20 at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ; and February 25 at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium in Dallas, TX, so far.

stellastarr* has announced its upcoming one-month tour of the U.S. The venture will kick off November 16 at The Social in Orlando, FL, and conclude December 18 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. Performances along the way include November 18 at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC; December 5 at Spaceland in Los Angeles, CA; December 7 at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix, AZ; and December 16 at Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY. Eleven concerts are booked so far for the late-year run.
