With a new album just around the corner, pop-punk crew Alkaline Trio has announced its plans to headline a national tour in the early months of 2010. The 36-date trek kicks off February 16 at the Glass House in Pomona, CA, and completes its circuit on April 2 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA.
The six-week itinerary includes performances on February 20 at Neumo’s in Seattle, WA; February 27-28 at Metro/Smart Bar in Chicago, IL; March 12 at the Nokia Theatre in New York, NY; March 22 at the House of Blues in Orlando, FL; and March 3 at The Marquee in Tempe, AZ.
The Alkaline tour bus will make a single stop north of the border. The band will perform for Canadian fans on March 6 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, ON.
Post-hardcore crew Cursive will provide support throughout the entire late-winter jaunt.
Ticket presales are currently open to members of Alkaline Trio’s online fan community, or to fans who preorder the band’s upcoming album, “This Addiction.” The majority of public onsales will begin on January 7 and 8 with ticket face values set in the $15-$20 range, depending on the venue. Ticketing details are available on Alkaline Trio’s official MySpace page.
“This Addiction,” the band’s seventh studio album, is due for release on February 23. The group’s previous releases have fared moderately well on the mainstream charts. Their last album, 2008’s “Agony & Irony,” hit a high of No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
