Country musician Travis Tritt is saddling up for a new round of touring, with a total of 20 performances currently on the books for the New Year.
The main portion of Tritt’s 2010 concert calendar runs from January 15 at the Hard Rock in Biloxi, MS, through Gebruary 27 at Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, NV. The country veteran has 15 shows booked from coast to coast during that time period.
Tritt also has a handful of gig dates sprinkled over the spring months. After the winter tour leg, his next concert is scheduled or April 17 at Bickley’s Lake in Thomaston, GA, with four more events inked through a June 18 set at Apple River Country Splash in Somerset, WI.
The performer is still touring behind his tenth studio album “The Storm,” released in August 2007. No announcements have been made about new material or projects for Tritt, who was identified as a major money loser during an appearance at the 2008 Bike Time festival in Muskegon, MI. The summer performance only drew an audience of about 3,000 to the three-day event.
At the time, festival director and Muskegon Mayor Steve Warmington attributed the losses to the declining popularity of concerts in general, according to a report from Michigan Live. However, a free Mitch Ryder concert easily drew more people to the 2009 Bike Time event, according to a recent report from the same publication.
Regardless of past blemishes on his ticket sale record, Tritt has proven himself to be a top seller on the album end of business. Over the course of his nearly 10-year career, the musician has sold about 12 million records in the U.S., according to the RIAA, with press statements for Tritt estimating his overall sales at 25 million.
