Cultural icon and musician Willie Nelson is known for his nearly non-stop touring, and he’ll continue that standard in the early months of 2010 with another leg of tour dates.
At the moment, the 76-year-old road dog’s early year calendar is focused on markets in the central and south United States. The 30-city itinerary launches early in the New Year with a January 7 concert at Abraham Chavez Theatre in El Paso, TX, and continues through a March 17 gig at the annual Country Thunder USA music festival in Florence, AZ.
Along the way, the legendary country crooner will pull over the tour bus for events on January 13-14 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, LA; January 23 at the William G. Bell Auditorium in Augusta, GA; February 11 at Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, FL; and February 28 at Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX.
While the January dates were announced earlier this fall, Nelson’s official Web site just recently rolled out the addition of February concerts to the schedule. Some of the first presales for the new dates began yesterday and today, December 22 and 23. Full details on 2010 ticketing are available on Nelson’s site.
In previous years, Nelson has followed the same pattern of starting his new tours early and continuing them through the final months of the year. His early 2008 tour kicked off in Alabama, while his 2009 concert plans began with a two-night stand in Nevada.
