Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is tossing out the question marks and giving his new solo project a real name and a spring tour of the United States to boot.

Atoms for Peace, formerly operating under the ambiguous moniker Thom Yorke????, will perform nearly 10 concerts across the country in April. The two-week jaunt kicks off with an April 5-6 stand at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, NY, and concludes on April 18 with a set at Coachella in Indio, CA.

The itinerary also includes stands on April 10-11 at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL, and April 14-15 at Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA. One-nighters are slated for April 8 at the Wang Theatre in Boston, MA, and April 17 at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA.

Ticket sales begin on March 2 in New York and Boston, March 3 in Chicago and Santa Barbara, and March 4 in Oakland. Public ticket sales have already begun for Coachella 2010.

The five-man band shares its name with a speech given by President Eisenhower in 1953, as well as a track on Yorke’s solo album, “The Eraser,” released in 2006. “Hope you like the name,” Yorke wrote in a statement on Radiohead’s official Web site. “It seemed bleedin’ obvious.”

In addition to Yorke’s signature vocals, Atoms of Peace brags an all-star lineup with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, Beck and R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker, Forro in the Dark percussionist Mauro Refosco, and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

In October 2009, the Atoms crew made its debut over the course of two sold-out nights at Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Meanwhile, one-man experimental act Flying Lotus has been tapped as the opener for the band’s April tour.
