Rock trio Train ended a nearly three-year break from touring and recording to release their fifth studio album in fall 2009. Now the San Francisco-based group is heading back on the road to support that album.
The band has 28 concerts on its 2010 calendar, with most scheduled in March and April. The spring outing kicks off March 4 at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and concludes its primary run on April 3 at Tennesee Theatre in Knoxville, TN.
After the main portion of the tour concludes, Train still has three more concerts on the books: April 30 at Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK; May 15 at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK; and July 18 at the OC Fair at Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, CA.
The rock trio’s four-week spring itinerary primarily focuses on markets along the East Coast with only a slight push into the Midwestern states. Additionally, a single gig has been confirmed for Canada on March 24 at Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, ON.
Tickets are already available for all dates on the tour, even the most recently announced dates in late March and early April. Butch Walker & The Black Widows will support on all spring dates through April 3.
Train is touring behind their October 2009 record “Save Me, San Francisco,” which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200, a slight decline from the No. 10 peak of its 2006 predecessor “For Me, It’s You.”
The current single “Hey, Soul Sister” peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100, making it their highest charting track since the 2001 hit “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” hit No. 5.
