“American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert will be back in the headlines this summer as he prepares for his latest national tour.
Only nine dates have been announced for the Glam Nation Tour itinerary so far, with a tentative opening date set for June 4 at the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Official headlining dates are currently booked through a June 26 show at the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City, NJ.
Highlights on the calendar include performances on June 10 at Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs, IA, and June 22 at the Nokia Theatre in New York, NY. Ticket onsale dates and prices have not yet been announced.
While the “American Idol” alum’s calendar is still relatively bare, the announcement of additional tour stops is expected. Lambert’s headline venture is presently bookended by a pair of radio-sponsored concert appearances at the end of May and two festival sets inked for much later in the summer.
Lambert teased the upcoming tour on his official Twitter account, where he divulged: “For those who didn’t know, my opening acts are Orianthi and Allison Iraheta!”
Orianthi is an Australian musician, who gained widespread recognition in 2009 after Michael Jackson handpicked her to play lead guitar for the “This Is It” concert series. Iraheta originally competed with Lambert on the eighth season of “American Idol,” when she came in fourth place and he finished second behind winner Kris Allen.
Lambert released his first studio album “For Your Entertainment” in November 2009, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Iraheta’s debut effort “Just Like You” was released later in December and hit a peak of No. 35 on the Billboard 200.
