For the first time in nearly a decade, popular ’90s nu-metal crew Limp Bizkit is launching a full-scale tour of North America. Ice Cube joins the lineup for a majority of the planned dates, while Method Man and Redman are also on the books for select performances.
The rap-rock extravaganza officially begins July 3 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ, though Limp Bizkit is slated for an earlier festival performance on May 23 at Rock on the Range in Columbus, OH. The national itinerary leaves off with an August 15 set at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA, after which the band will head overseas for its European tour leg.
Other scheduled concert dates include July 11 at Aaron’s Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA; July 21 at Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON; August 2 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, MO; and August 13 at Cleep Train Amphitheatre in Wheatland, CA.
Public ticket sales begin May 15 in a majority of the scheduled concert markets, though a few box offices open today, May 14. Face values are generally within the $25 to $55 range, according to currently listings on Ticketmaster.com.
The original lineup of Limp Bizkit — Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal — announced its reformation in early 2009. Since then, most of the group’s live efforts have been focused in European markets, such as the summer 2009 Unicorns N’ Rainbows Tour.
To support its second go as a group, Limp Bizkit has recorded a new album titled “Gold Cobra.” An exact release date for the effort has not been announced, but the first single “Why Try” is streaming on the band’s Web site, and the summer set list is expected to preview the new material.
