Just a week after the May 21 release of their self-titled sixth studio record, Stone Temple Pilots announced plans for a summer tour that will keep them on the road for a little over a month.
STP begins its North American trek with an August 7 performance at Rock on the Range in Winnipeg, MB. Booked primarily into amphitheatres and other summertime sheds, the venture will wrap on September 19 at Arizona Fall Frenzy in Tempe, AZ.
The itinerary features just under 20 concert dates, including events on August 10 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO; August 20 at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, IL; and September 1 at Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA.
STP’s official Web site has not announced ticket onsale or pricing details for the summer tour. However, an event listing on Ticketmaster.com for the band’s August 25 concert at PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, OH, shows a public onsale date of June 12 and ticket prices ranging from $41.50 to $56.
The summer 2010 outing is just the latest concert tour for the reunited STP. After splitting in 2003, the Scott Weiland-fronted band cemented its reunion with a lengthy reunion tour that spanned much of 2008 and returned to the road again in 2009 for summer and fall concerts.
