Now entering its 12th year, the New Orleans-based Voodoo Experience music festival has unveiled the lineup for Halloween weekend 2010. At the top of the billing for the October 29-31 event are Muse, Ozzy Osbourne and Weezer.

The three-day festival will once again set down in City Park, with 50 artists already confirmed for the event’s three performance areas: main stage Le Ritual, and side stages Le Carnival and Le Flambeau.

Among the other acts tapped for the fall festival’s main stage are Drake, Hot Chip, Janelle Monae and Jonsi. Meanwhile, the Eagles of Death Metal will be one of the artists highlighted at Le Carnival, which Preservation hall Jazz Band and George Porter will each hold down sets at Le Flambeau.

Three-day admission and VIP passes are currently available for $150 and $500, respectively. Both ticket packages were previously available at early bird presale price levels of $125 and $375. Information about single-day ticket sales has not yet been posted on Voodoo’s official Web site.

This year marks the Prince of Darkness’ debut performance at the New Orleans fete. Osbourne, who resurrects OzzFest this August as a six-city tour, said in a prepared statement, “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Halloween than with a performance at Voodoo.”

Previous years of Voodoo have featured more than 100 performers at the various stages. KISS, Eminem and Jane’s Addiction led the event in 2009, while the 2008 festival featured top-billed sets from Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails and R.E.M.

Founded in 1999, the festival has run for 12 consecutive years, even staging an event in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. According to Q4 reports from New Orleans’ Convention and Visitors Bureau, attendance for the 2007 and 2008 Voodoo events topped the 100,000 mark. The CVB did not provide an attendance estimate for the 2009 festival in its last Q4 report.
