After completing two rounds of touring together this summer, Slayer and Megadeth have announced plans for a second leg of the American Carnage Tour. The fall tour will receive an extra shot of adrenaline with the addition of Anthrax to the lineup.
The trio of bands, who first toured together for 1991’s Clash of the Titans Tour, will launch the latest round of the U.S. outing on September 24 at Superpages.com Center in Dallas, TX. The tour is scheduled to run through October 21 at Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, CA.
The 20-date routing includes performances on September 26 at Verizon Wireless Theater in Houston, TX; October 3 at Bayfront Park in Miami, FL; October 12 at Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY; and October 20 at Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas, NV.
Fan club presales begin July 14, with codes distributed through each band’s official Web site, and public onsales follow late on July 23 in most markets. A limited number of tickets will be available for $10, as supplies last, while select markets will offer $5 or $10 discounts for regularly priced tickets during the upcoming presales.
Regular price ranges vary from venue to venue. Most event listings on Ticketmaster.com show top ticket prices around the $50 range, though a few markets have prices that extend upwards of $70.
Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax joined forces during the 1991 Clash of the Titans Tour. But the two former bands have a tour history that extends well beyond that single outing, having joined forces for the summer 2009 Canadian Carnage Tour that visited the western provinces.
The trash crews planned additional Carnage treks, but were forced to postpone their tour plans when Slayer bassist Tom Araya underwent a series of procedures to correct an on-going back problem.
The tour legs — one in eastern Canada and one in the United States — were rescheduled for summer 2010 following Araya’s recovery.
The six-date Canadian Carnage Tour kicks off the summer calendar, running from July 23 at Pavillon de la Jeunesse in Quebec City, QC, through July 30 at John Labatt Centre in London, ON. The first leg of the American Carnage Tour follows, launching August 11 at the Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY. The 19-date summer itinerary extends through September 4 at Washington County Fair Complex in Hillsboro, OR.
