Former Grateful Dead compatriots Phil Lesh and Bob Weir are ready to embark on a two-leg tour of the United States with their year-old band Furthur.
The fall trek begins on the West Coast, where Lesh and Weir have plotted a six-city itinerary that opens September 16-17 at Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, OR. A lengthier stand closes the venture over the September 24-26 weekend at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.
After a month-long break, Furthur returns with a nine-city circuit through Midwest and East Coach markets. That late-year leg starts November 8 at Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, MN, and wraps with a November 20-21 blow-out at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
The Furthur calendar also includes back-to-back gigs on September 21 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, and September 22 at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV. Later itinerary highlights include a November 12-13 run at UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL, and a November 17 concert at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD.
Public onsales have already started for the September tour leg, while ticket sales for the November tour leg start August 20. In most markets with upcoming onsales, ticket prices start around $37.50 or $39.50 and range up to $57.50 or $59.50, according to Ticketmaster.com.
Lesh and Weir made their live debut as Furthur in September 2009, after The Dead finished their reunion tour. In addition to the two veteran musicians, the current Furthur lineup features Jeff Chimenti, John Kadlecik, Joe Russo, Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson. Drummer Jay Lane had been a member of the group until mid-May, when he left Furthur to rejoin Primus.
