The Prince of Darkness is ready to take his musical reign on the road. Ozzy Osbourne has announced the first leg of a late-year North American tour in support of his latest studio album, “Scream.”
Osbourne’s headlining arena venture, his first (outside of Ozzfest) since 2007, launches November 12 at Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC. The North American trek concludes one month later on December 12 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.
A dozen dates are on the late-year itinerary, most of them booked into Canadian markets like a November 14 show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, and a November 27 gig at Air Canada Center in Toronto, ON. Of the four dates currently announced for the United States, the highlight is a December 1 performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
Halford, fronted by Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, will open each date of the tour.
Public onsales for the tour begin September 18, except tickets for Ozzy’s Toronto show, which will be available to the general public starting September 17. According to current listings on Ticketmaster.com, prices for the Canadian shows run from CA $29.50 up to CA $89.50. In the states, presently listed ticket prices run $36 to $81.50 (IZOD Center) and $49.50 to $89.50 (Madison Square Garden).
Osbourne released his 10th solo album “Scream” on June 22, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The veteran rocker is presently touring internationally and has more than a dozen dates booked from now through October.
Stateside, Osbourne headlined the six-date Ozzfest 2010 Tour with Mötley Crüe earlier this summer. He has another festival engagement planned for the fall, when he’ll headline Voodoo Experience on October 30 at City Park in New Orleans, LA.
