Veteran progressive rock crew Rush has plans to resurrect its successful Time Machine Tour for a fresh run in the New Year. The Canadian trio launches the next leg of its North American March 30 at Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Thirteen concerts are inked for the 2011 Time Machine Tour itinerary, which is currently set to wrap April 22 at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD. Other U.S. stops include April 3 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN; April 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY; and April 12 at United Center in Chicago, IL.
At the moment, the band is only scheduled to make two gig stops in its native Canada: the first on April 19 at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, ON, and the second on April 20 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC.
Initial public ticket sales started yesterday, December 6, in Hershey, Auburn Hills and Baltimore. The remaining North American markets have onsale dates of December 10, 11 or 13. Exact onsale dates and tour information can be found on Rush’s official Web site.
Event listings on Ticketmaster.com and other primary seller sites show ticket prices starting between $40.50 (Toledo) and $53.50 (Louisville). The high end of prices also vary, with face values hitting just $86 in some (also Toledo) and reaching up to $176 in others (New York City).
There is little room on Rush’s present itinerary for additional North American dates. Soon after the band completes its 13-date run of the states and provinces, it will be Europe-bound for an additional 11 concerts. Rush’s overseas calendar picks up May 4 in Helsinki, Finland, and continues through a May 29 concert in Frankfurt, Germany.
Rush’s 2010 Time Machine Tour included 37 concert dates in the United States and Canada, including a variety of festival appearances. The tour opener was June 29 in Albuquerque, NM, and the band stayed on the national circuit through October 2 in West Palm Beach, FL.
Rush’s touring efforts were recognized at the 2010 Billboard Touring Conference & Awards. The band received the Legend of Live Award, which celebrates “significant and lasting contribution to live music and the touring business,” according to the publication.
