For the third time in less than a year, rock icon Robert Plants has unveiled more tour dates with his new project, Band of Joy.

The veteran musician and his compatriots have extended their itinerary into the spring with a fresh 14-city outing. The new leg begins April 8 at the Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY, and stretches through an April 29 appearance at this year’s Jazz Fest in New Orleans, LA.

The one-month trip includes concert stops on April 9 at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, IL; April 17 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC; and April 23 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Tickets are already on sale for select dates of the Band of Joy’s spring tour, but additional onsales are coming up January 29. Prices vary across the nation, though most markets have face values starting around the $40 and maxing out around $95, according to Ticketmaster.com listings.

The new dates are, of course, in addition to those scheduled for the Band of Joy’s ongoing winter 2011 tour leg. That trek, the second for Plant’s new outfit, began January 18 in Asheville, NC, and continues along the East Coast through a February 8-9 stand at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

And both the present winter trek and upcoming spring venture follow Plant’s debut tour with the Band of Joy in July 2010. The dozen-date introductory circuit took the musicians from the Deep South through the Southwest in under three weeks.

In addition to all their touring, Plant and the Band of Joy released an eponymous debut album in September 2010. The effort earned high marks from critics, coming in at No. 8 on Rolling Stone’s “30 Best Albums of 2010” list, but ultimately failed to make an impact on the U.S. sales charts.
