Foo Fighters are ramping up for a late spring tour of the United States with supporting acts Motörhead and Biffy Clyro. The venture’s first five concert dates were just announced, with the calendar opening May 17 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.
The present five-city routing extends through May 26 at Adams Center in Missoula, MT, though additional dates are expected. Other stops are set for May 18 at Verizon Center in Little Rock, AR; May 20 at FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN; and May 23 at Mid America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.
Fan club presales begin today, March 16, and public onsales open at 10 a.m. local time on March 18. Ticket prices begin around $25 and reach up to $50, based on present Ticketmaster.com event listings.
In addition to the standard tour dates, Foo Fighters also have two festival appearances inked so far. Those gigs will take Dave Grohl and company to the Hangout Music Festival on May 21 in Gulf Shores, AL, and the Sasquatch! Music Festival on May 27 in Quincy, WA.
Additional dates are expected for the spring tour with Motörhead. Updates will be made on the official Foo Fighters Web site.
The upcoming tour is the first major one for the band since its 2007-2008 international ventures. World dates are also planned for this stint, with dates booked across Europe from June through August.
Foo Fighters’ seventh studio album, “Wasting Light,” is due for release April 12. The effort is a follow-up to 2007’s “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and produced the No. 1 single “The Pretender.”
