PRESS RELEASE: “Minnesota Twins to Use Demand-Based Pricing for Single-Game Tickets at Target Field”

Minneapolis, MN (Minnesota Twins) March 30, 2011 – The Minnesota Twins announced today they have chosen leading demand-based pricing provider, Digonex Technologies, Inc., to provide demand-based pricing for some sections of Target Field for the 2011 season. Seats in the Home Plate Box and Home Plate View seating sections of Target Field will be priced according to fan demand starting on Thursday, March 31.

“The Twins began evaluating demand-based pricing during the 2010 season to more accurately price single-game tickets and to provide fans with more price options,” said Steve Smith, Twins Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service. “Demand-based pricing allows the Twins to adjust ticket prices upward or downward on a daily basis based on real-time market conditions such as team performance, pitching matchups and the weather.”

The new demand-based pricing structure applies only to single-game ticket sales and does not affect Season Ticket Holder pricing. The Twins will utilize Digonex’s Sports and Entertainment Analytical Ticketing System (SEATSâ„¢), a robust and proven dynamic pricing system that optimizes prices based upon a number of factors, to provide greater value to fans, maximize ticket sales, and mitigate the impact of ticket scalpers.

“Digonex is excited to provide the extensive capabilities of SEATS to the Twins to quickly and correctly price tickets,” said Jan Eglen, Ph.D., CEO of Digonex Technologies. “Staying in sync with an ever-changing marketplace can positively impact the franchise and extend loyalty to their fans.”
