It may still be summer, but preparations for the holidays are in full swing for Mannheim Steamroller. For the 2011 incarnation of its annual Christmastime outings, the seasonal music group will set two tour crews on the road for more than a month of concert dates.
Mannheim Steamroller plans to perform a total of 90 concerts from November 10 through December 31. Additional concert announcements are forthcoming, as the tour schedule presently includes just 74 concerts booked from November 11 through December 30.
Among the confirmed dates, Mannheim Steamroller’s two touring companies have performances booked November 13 at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN; November 26 at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, NV; December 3 at Academy of Music in Philadelphia, PA; December 15 at Memorial Auditorium in San Francisco, CA; December 22 at Orpheum Theater in Omaha, NE.
The only city hosting multiple days of performances is Denver, CO, where the West Coast troupe will play at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre on December 10 and 11. More itinerary details can be found on Mannheim Steamroller’s official Web site.
Public onsales are yet to be announced for the majority of concerts on the 2011 tour, though Ticketmaster.com does have listings for a handful of markets. Some onsales began as early as May, while a few others are slated for late August and September. Ticket prices also vary widely, beginning around $30 in several cities and ranging up to $80 in others.
Mannheim Steamroller released its first Christmas album in 1984. Since then, the group has become one of the nation’s best known seasonal acts, alongside the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. TSO also released its 2011 holiday tour schedule this month.
