Paul Simon tour adds more fall 2011 concert dates
Paul Simon is on the move again and expanding his fall tour plans for North America. What was a dozen-date tour of the South and Southwest has now been upgraded to a 23-stop itinerary that spans from coast to coast.
The So Beautiful or So What Tour still opens October 17 at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, but the iconic singer-songwriter will now stay on the road until Thanksgiving. The tour’s new end date is November 23, when Simon will perform at the E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, OH.
The newer portion of the schedule begins with a November 8 performance at The Midland in Kansas City, MO. It also includes stops on November 11 at Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee, WI; November 15 at Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO; and November 20 at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
Tickets are already available for select dates of the tour, with additional onsales coming up on September 30 and October 1. A full break-down of tour dates and ticket sales is available on Simon’s official Web site.
Based on current event listings on Ticketmaster.com, face values vary widely for the tour. Depending on the market, ticket prices can start at anywhere from $35 up to $65. The top-end of ticket prices is equally disparate, as some markets max out around $65 and others have regular ticket prices continuing up to $130 for Simon’s concerts.
The upcoming fall tour is the most recent leg of dates supporting Simon’s latest record, “So Beautiful or So What.” The living legend launched the tour in April, just a few days after the album’s release.
