Prince kept U.S. fans on their toes through late spring with a series of near-term concert announcements for his Welcome 2 America Tour. Now, the Purple One is taking that tour north of the border.
The Welcome 2 Canada Tour launches with a November 25-26 stand at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON, according to late October 28 announcement from Live Nation. Eleven dates are confirmed through December 17 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC.
Other stops along the way include a December 2 show at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC; a December 8 performance at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB; and a December 16 event at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC.
Public ticket sales for the tour, which Live Nation bills as “Prince’s first multi-city national Canadian tour since 2002,” begin November 4. Onsales in Halifax, NS, and Montreal, QC, start later on November 5.
According to the few event listings presently available on LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com, pre-fee ticket prices range from CA$25 to CA$195 in Edmonton, and from CA$49.50 to CA$250 in Toronto.
Prince toured the United States from late 2010 through spring 2011 performing dates on the Welcome 2 America Tour. In addition to that tour, Prince also completed a 21-night stand at The Forum in Los Angeles and a three-set bill at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
