With their European tour already underway, Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced initial dates for the U.S. leg of their I’m With You Tour.
As it stands presently, the U.S. tour leg will launch early in the New Year with a January 25 concert at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. The 2012 concert dates mark the band’s first U.S. outing since the 2006-2007 Stadium Arcadium Tour.
RHCP has confirmed six dates for the jaunt so far, through a February 3 show at FedExForum in Memphis, TN. However, Ticketmaster.com also lists a seventh concert on February 29 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA.
Public ticket sales begin December 3 in most markets on the present U.S. itinerary, except for Duluth (December 2) and San Diego (December 17). Before fees, tickets carry face values ranging from $35.50 to $59.50.
More U.S. tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to the Chili Peppers’ official Web site.
Among the upcoming concert reveals could be a new tour-opener on January 23 at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL. Although the show is unconfirmed by the band, venue and Ticketmaster, live event news site and concert tracking service Songkick.com lists it among RHCP’s 2012 dates.
The I’m With You Tour promotes the band’s 10th studio album of the same name, which was released in August 2011. Ticketmaster currently lists recording artist Santigold as the support for select dates of RHCP’s upcoming U.S. run.
RHCP is in the middle of its European tour leg, which runs through mid-December with stops in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Spain. A second leg of European dates is scheduled for summer 2012.
