Jane’s Addiction to tour U.S. theaters 

Jane’s Addiction has lined up a winter tour of North America to promote its latest album, “The Great Escape Artist.”

Since adding dates after the initial January 11 announcement, the Theatre of the Escapists Tour itinerary now stands at 19 dates. The outing kicks off February 22 at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, and concludes March 24 at Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI.

A single stop in Canada has been confirmed for February 27 at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON. Shows also are lined up for March 6 at Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ, and March 23 at the Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY, among the other U.S. dates.

Public onsales start January 13-14 in select tour markets, according to current listings on Ticketmaster.com. Face values largely run between $30 and $50 in the tour’s U.S. markets, with the exception of top ticket prices of $125 in Huntington, NY, and $102.50 in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Ticket values for the lone Canadian show in Toronto run between CA$35 and CA$75 before fees.

The 2012 winter venture is a departure from usual Jane’s Addiction tours due to the band’s selection of venues. As frontman Perry Farrell explained on the band’s official Web site, “We chose to play as many of the great theatres that we could find because we wanted to immerse the audience in a unique experience unlike any they have ever seen at a rock show.”

However, Jane’s Addiction will perform a different staging in the tour’s four non-theater venues: Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Columbus, OH; House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, SC; The Joint in Catoosa, OK; and The Brick in Minneapolis, MN.

A notice on the band’s Web site states that the set list for these shows will be the same as the tour’s theater concerts, but that the “presentation may be slightly different due to logistical reasons.”

Jane’s Addiction released its fourth studio album, “The Great Escape Artist,” in October 2011. The record marked the band’s first new release since 2003’s “Stray.”

The touring lineup behind the Theatre of the Escapists Tour will feature Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney.
