The U.S. 2012 gymnastic Olympians will tour the United States in the 2012 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions after the Olympics in London, which officially kicks off today, July 27.

Fans can root for and welcome the USA 2012 Olympians home after the Olympics, as the tour travels cross country performing in 10 weeks of shows. 40 cities of all sizes are on the tour’s schedule including: Dallas, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Kansas City, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Louisville, KY; Brooklyn, NY; and Hartford, CT. The tour starts in San Jose, CA on September 8 and ends in Brooklyn, NY on November 18.

“As our 2012 Olympians head to London to represent their country, we are proud to announce they will be an important part of our cast for the 2012 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions, which serves as the perfect stage for Americans to celebrate and welcome our Olympians home,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics on USAGym.org.

Kellogg U.S. Morning Foods President, David Denholm said, “USA Gymnastics has produced countless memorable moments throughout the history of the Olympic Games. Eight of ten members from the 2012 Team USA gymnasts are participating in the Kellogg’s Tour, which include: Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Jake Dalton, Jonathan Horton, John Orozco, Kyla Ross, Aly Raisman, and Jordyn Wieber.

Jordyn Wieber and Gabby Douglas are the front runners of an extremely talented USA team and are expected to be top contenders for the overall gold medal honor in women’s gymnastics at this year’s London Olympics.

In addition to the 2012 USA Olympic Team gymnasts fans will get to see 2008 Olympic all-around champion, Nastia Liukin, 2008 Olympic team silver medalists, Chellsie Memmel and Alicia Sacramone. Sacramone also holds the highest career total in U.S. history for World Championship medals with 9 (three golds, four silvers, and two bronzes).

“Chellsie’s commitment to join the cast is important. Her journey with USA Gymnastics has been a significant part of our success, and we are proud to celebrate her accomplishments,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics on usagym.org. Chellsie Memmel has achieved many accomplishments in her 12 years as an elite gymnast. She was the first U.S. woman to win the World all-around title, where she earned six World medals. The 10-Time U.S. National Team member also won the Olympic silver medal and she is one of the only 41 U.S. women to earn an Olympic gymnastics medal.

John Macready, 1996 Olympian and Mary Sanders, 2004 Olympian will also be part of the cast in the Kellogg’s Tour. With each city stop local gymnasts will also join in on the fun performing for the crowd.

There are still other athletes who have yet to be named. These gymnasts will showcase their talents in rhythmic, acrobatic, and trampoline events.

Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics noted on USAGym.org: “The Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions will be unlike any previously produced.”

Fans of the sport are surely to be in awe getting to see some of the best names out there live especially after seeing a many of them perform on the Olympic stage.

It is also important to note that the all-star cast will vary city to city, due to their schedules and commitments.
