Dave Matthews Band is headed to the West Coast in support of their new album “Away From The World Tour.” This leg of the tour kicks off with an intense three day stage ensemble, August 31 – September 2, at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. This will be the Dave Matthews Bands 40th headline show at The Gorge in the past 15 years, making the band a recurring resident of the amphitheatre.

“Away From The World,” Dave Matthews Band’s newest album, will have some familiarity to its fan base as the band collaborated with Steve Lillywhite the producer for DMB’s hit albums “Under the Table and Dreaming,” “Crash,” and “Before These Crowded Streets.”

Dave Matthews Band will be joined at the Gorge by the Avett Brothers and Allen Stone. The Avett Brothers will be adding the Gorge to its already packed month of August which included Chico, CA; Jacksonville, OR; Troutdale, OR; and Palmer, AK promoting hits from their upcoming album “The Carpenter” also to be released September 11. The Avett Brothers are offering a free download of their new single “Live And Die”. When fans pre-order “The Carpenter” which is to be offered in CD, double vinyl, and digital download on their website www.theavettbrothers.com.

Allen Stone, a local “Seattlite” from Chewelah, WA, has been white hot and expects to open the shows at the Gorge. CityArtsMagazine.com wrote about Allen Stone back in November 2011 saying that he has “a voice that astounds everyone who hears it, a rich caramel tone as full as it is limber, reaching back into the annals of soul’s greatest hitmakers, rippling like Stevie Wonder, swaying like Bill Withers, ascending like Prince. It’s a voice that has attracted his young, talented bandmates and the night’s adoring crowd. It’s a voice that shatters prejudice. And it’s a voice that is trying to say something.”
