Guns N’ Roses announced plans on August 13 to play 12 shows in Sin City, starting on Halloween and running until Saturday, November 24. The band, fronted by Axl Rose, will perform at The Joint, located inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, joining a growing list of Las Vegas’ resident musical superstars.

Guns N’ Roses sold out two shows at The Joint this past New Year’s Eve, and the venue was eager to establish the residency. Paul Davis, vice president of entertainment at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, said earlier this month, “this is what The Joint is all about, bringing fans up close and personal with one of the most iconic bands in the world. It will be a truly unique Guns N’ Roses experience!”

The upcoming residency is being billed as “Appetite for Democracy” and will feature nightly set lists covering songs from throughout the band’s illustrious career. These will include classics from their debut album, “Appetite for Destruction” (1987), up through their most recent release, “Chinese Democracy” (2008). This year marks the 25th anniversary of their debut album’s release, so fans attending the historic event should expect to hear plenty of past hits like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

The event will be exclusively produced by AEG Live. According to Bobby Reynolds, vice president of booking at AEG Live, Las Vegas, “to hear one of the biggest bands in the world rip through their catalog of hits is going to be amazing. There is no better way to celebrate the anniversary of their iconic album Appetite for Destruction than to present Appetite for Democracy at The Joint.”

Guns N’ Roses, formed in 1985, is probably one of the most well-known American rock bands of all time, with over 100 million albums sold worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier in the year, with three of the five best-known band members performing in the ceremony. Longtime frontman Axl Rose declined the invitation and opted out of the performance in April, citing a lack of respect from the Hall of Fame organization.

Rose now leads the group without any of the band’s original members, but the show goes on. Fans attending Appetite for Democracy this fall will see band founder, Axl Rose, DJ Ashba (guitar), Richard Fortus (guitar), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (guitar), Tommy Stinson (bass), Chris Pitman (keyboards), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), and Frank Ferrer (drums).

Shows are scheduled to run primarily on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the time period, with one Sunday show taking place on November 18. Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday, August 17, at 10:00am.

The venue, located on Paradise Road in Sin City, boasts a state-of-the-art sound system and recently-upgraded stage lighting to ensure a memorable experience from any seat in the house. According to their official website, The Joint has the capacity to accommodate 4,000 and offers “seven VIP Luxury Suites and a prestigious VIP Level.” For both long-time Guns N’ Roses fans and those new to their music, Appetite for Democracy is shaping up to be an historic event.
