Paul McCartney recently announced his plans to add two more shows to the North American leg of his immensely popular On the Run tour. McCartney and his band will return to play in Houston, TX on Wednesday, November 14, and he will play his debut show in Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday, November 28.

The Texas stop in the On the Run tour will mark the first time in almost seven years that McCartney has played there. Houston has hosted many different versions of Paul McCartney throughout the years, beginning in 1965 when The Beatles played at the Sam Houston Coliseum. McCartney returned with his band Wings in 1976, and later revisited the city under his own name in 1993, 2002, and again in 2005. The legendary singer and his current band are scheduled to play at Houston’s Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros, on November 14.

Following the Houston show, McCartney will break new ground in Canada. The former Beatle will play his first ever show in Edmonton, Alberta at the Rexall Place, home of the Edmonton Oilers, on November 28. According to Pollstar, Live Nation called the upcoming Edmonton show “a major historical concert event,” and the city is reportedly very excited.

In addition to the two recently announced shows, McCartney will play two other shows in North America this fall: Sunday, November 11, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO, and Sunday, November 25, at BC Place in Vancouver, BC. McCartney’s current band for the upcoming On the Run shows will be Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Paul Wickens, and Abe Laboriel, Jr.

The On the Run tour kicked off at New York’s Yankee Stadium in July 2011, and since then McCartney has played over 30 shows throughout North and South America, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates. The setlist includes hits from the Beatles and McCartney’s band Wings, in addition to highlighting some of his solo work.
