On March 1, 2013, the trio will return to perform at Madison Square Garden. Their last performance at this venue in late 2011 sold out in nine minutes. SHM broke out into the electronic dance music (EDM) scene in 2008. Serving dual roles as both DJ’s and producers, the trio consists of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso. They have each experienced successes as both individual musicians and as members of the trio. In addition to being disc jockeys, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso runtheir own record labels. Their respective labels are Axtone, SIZE, and Refune.

The positive reception of their first single, “One,” motivated Swedish House Mafia to release five more singles. “Until One” and “One Night Stand” are the trio’s two compilation albums. SHM has played at venues around the world. The group has performed at past venues such as the Milton Keynes Bowl, Coachella, the Ushuaia Beach Hotel, and the iHeart Radio Music Festival. Swedish House Mafia placed at number ten in The DJ Magazine Top 100 Poll for 2011. “Don’t You Worry Child,” the trio’s most recent single, was released this past July.

In August, Swedish House Mafia announced on their website that the One Last Tour would be its last excursion as a cohesive group. After going their separate ways, the three disc jockeys can devote more time to their respective labels and individual projects.

Steve Angello is releasing his highly anticipated single “Yeah” on September 29. He also put on a concert in New York City’s Central Park last weekend along with other members of his label, Size Records.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Angello discussed the decision the band made to break up. He stated, “Yeah, it’s always a hard decision to split something but at the same time, we would never have gone out on a world tour unless we had decided that we were going to stop. So it’s sad, but at the same time, it’s very intriguing, we’re looking forward to it.”

Later when asked about possibilities of reunion shows from Swedish House Mafia, Angello responded “I have no idea. We never plan anything. If we get back in 10 years and say, let’s do a DJ show, why not? But nothing’s ever talked about. We take one thing at a time.”
