Maroon 5 tops TicketNews®’ events rankings for the week ending October 28, 2012.
With tickets to their recently announced Overexposed tour going on sale this passed weekend Maroon 5 easily surpassed the rest of the events keeping “The Book of Mormon” in the second position for the second consecutive week.
The band’s 31-date Overexposed tour is scheduled to kick off on February 13 and is set to run through April 6. The Overexposed tour is in promotion of Maroon 5’s most recent album of the same name. The record, which peaked at number 2 on Billboard 200 has produced two hit singles “Payphone” featuring Wiz Khalifa and “One More Night,” which is currently number one the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The North American tour will touch down in some major venues including New York’s Madison Square Garden on February 16, Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome March 7, the Staples Center in Los Angeles on March 15, Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on March 16, and Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on April 4. Touring with Adam Levine and company are fellow rock bands Neon Trees and Owl City.
The other notable addition to this week’s rankings comes after yet another concert announcement.
Country superstar Jason Aldean is back on TicketNews®’ events rankings in the eleventh position this week after tickets for his July 13 performance at Boston’s Fenway Park went on sale this past Friday. Aldean, who just wrapped up his 2012 tour with Luke Bryan on Saturday, October 27, announced a 2013 Night Train tour. Initially three stadium performances were released for Sanford Stadium, Fenway park, and Wrigley Field. Due to overwhelming sales for Fenway Park — the concert sold out in just 7 minutes according to JasonAldean.com — a second date was added for Friday, July 12.
The Night Train tour is in promotion of Aldean’s album of the same name which was released on October 16. Night Train debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200. Jason Aldean has rallied a group of artists to join in on the fun for these first four shows. Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will be on hand at all four performances. Luke Bryan is scheduled to take the stage at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium, Miranda Lambert will perform both Fenway Park dates, and Kelly Clarkson will be a part of the festivities at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
Presale tickets for the remaining dates are currently available to members of the Jason Aldean Army, with onsales to the general public scheduled for this weekend.
TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
