The Rolling Stones have added a show in New York City to their “50 & Counting…The Rolling Stones Live,” mini-tour announced earlier this year. The renowned rock band will be taking the stage of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on December 8.

Speculation rose that a show in New York City may not be happening after The Rolling Stones announced two shows at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday, December 13 and Saturday, December 15. Before kicking off the stateside portion of the tour, the Stones will be playing two shows at the O2 Arena in London, England. The UK performances are scheduled for Sunday, November 25 and Thursday, November 29.

With the original announcement of the tour, The Rolling Stones used their official website to promise fans a “truly must see and hear experience, with integral video screens and effects enhancing the sort of high-octane adventure for which the band’s concerts have been famous for decades.” Shortly after the original announcement for the tour, The Rolling Stones tweeted a handwritten list of songs. Fans are expecting that the list could be a hint at which songs will be on the upcoming show’s set list. 23 songs were included on the list, with classics like “Beast of Burden,” “Paint It Black,” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

According to The New York Times, The Rolling Stones had originally looked to perform at Madison Square Garden for the tour, but quickly came to the realization that scheduling conflicts and renovations would not allow for an open date in December. The band turned to executives at the Barclays Center, and spent a long time making negotiations, before finally making the announcement for the show earlier this week.

The Rolling Stones are a great addition to the December schedule that Barclays already has lined-up. Neil Young will be performing at the start of the month, on December 3. Dave Matthews Band will be taking the stage on December 21, and on December 30 and 31 Coldplay will perform two shows on back-to-back nights. The bands’ New Year’s Eve show will include special guest Jay-Z .

Tickets for The Rolling Stones show at the Barclays Center will be available for purchase to the general public beginning Monday, November 19 at 10 a.m., and are expected to sell quickly. A pre-sale is available for American Express cardholders beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14.

If ticket sales from the Prudential shows are any indication, the Barclays Center performance will likely sell out within minutes as Rolling Stones fans jump at the chance to join in on the “50 & Counting” celebration.
