This past Sunday night, the Boston Red Sox pulled through with a late inning win against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers were ahead by 4 runs when Ortiz tied the game with a Grand Slam in the 8th inning, resulting in the now iconic picture of the Tiger’s Torii Hunter falling over the wall next to an ecstatic Boston police officer.
In the 9th, Saltalamacchia sealed the win with a single. Red Sox won the game 6-5 and the crowd went wild.
The Sox will be playing Detroit again this afternoon for Game 3 against the Tigers in the American League Championship Series.
