This year’s Ticket Summit will include a new series of Workshops for Entrepreneurs aimed at helping ticket brokers build their business. These workshops will be hands-on sessions focusing on a variety of topics pertinent to small business owners, such as growth strategies, insurance, finance, contracts, and more.

The Workshops for Entrepreneurs will begin on Wednesday, July 12 at 10 AM with Insurance Matters for Small Business Owners, led by Michael Simon of TixSurance. The session will cover common insurance concerns that affect ticket brokers. In the afternoon, SCORE will present its first of two sessions, How to Understand Financial Statements and Improve Profitability, which will walk attendees through the three basic financial statements: the income statement, the balance sheet, and the cash flow statement. That session will be followed by Legal Concerns for Ticket Brokers, led by David Fritz of Boyarski Fritz, LLC.

The sessions on Thursday, July 13 begin with Strategies to Grow and Position Your Business. In this session, Michael Montalbano of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame will delve into growth strategies, which are concerned with increasing the size and viability of a business over time. This session will be followed by a second session of Legal Concerns for Ticket Brokers.

Thursday afternoon’s schedule begins with SCORE’s second session, Business Valuation and Exit Planning. This session deals with the three approaches to valuing a business and the valuation principles used to value a business. The Workshops for Entrepreneurs will conclude with a second session of Insurance Matters for Small Business Owners.

“Our attendees will find the new workshops very valuable,” said Amanda Farrish, Director of Corporate Events, TicketNetwork & Ticket Summit. “At attendees’ requests, we have been looking to provide more resources aimed at small business owners in recent years. The hands-on nature of our workshops should arm attendees with the tools they need to build their business.”
