Disney’s new Broadway musical Frozen, based on the wildly popular 2013 film, is graduating from its tryout run at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for Performing Arts to the St. James Theatre in New York City, opening in March of 2018. Tickets will go on sale Monday, August 14 at 10:00 AM EST and can be purchased on frozenthemusical.com or by calling Disney on Broadway at (866) 870-2717.

According to broadwayworld.com,  the two-act show is “the first and only incarnation of the tale that expands upon and deepens its indelible plot and themes through new songs and story material from the film’s creators”, and will feature “more than twice as much music as the film”. While that may be more than enough draw for fans of the animated version, their family members might be happy to hear that the show boasts an all-star cast and production team, as well. Music and lyrics are by the creators of the Oscar-winning film score Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Winnie the Pooh, In Transit) and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon). Michael Grandage will direct and Rob Ashford will choreograph, who hold more than a few Tony and Olivier awards and nominations between them.

The cast of more than 40 is brimming with Broadway talent, including Caissie Levy (Hairspray, Ghost: The Musical) as Elsa, Patti Murin (Xanadu, Lysistrata Jones) as Anna, Jelani Alladin (Sweetee) as Kristoff, and Greg Hildreth (Cinderella) as Olaf. Full cast list and creative team can be found here.

Anticipating a Broadway show as popular as the movie, Disney Theatrical Productions is employing a number of fraud-protective tactics, including going paperless. Print-at-home tickets will not be an option for Frozen ticket-holders; instead, only mobile device entry technology will be available through Ticketmaster, the primary seller. However, the St. James Theatre box office will open Monday, November 13. 2017 and it is unclear in what format those tickets will be sold.

You can still catch Frozen the Musical on the small stage at the Buell Theatre in Denver from August 17-October 1. Performances on Broadway at the St. James Theatre will begin February 22, 2018 with the show set to open in mid-March. Tickets for this Disney fan-favorite will go fast; get your Denver tickets now, and keep your eye out for tickets to the Broadway production of Frozen with no fees at ticketclub.com.
