It’s that time of year again – the time when you shell out all the holiday money you swore you’d save because every festival strategically announced their lineups in the days that followed, and they are all unmissable.
The latest lineup announcement comes from Boston Calling, which will he held once again at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, 2018, and boasts headliners Eminem, The Killers, and Jack White.
Jack White and Eminem were both recently announced as headliners for New York City’s Governors Ball as well, and Eminem also joins the headliners list at California’s Coachella.
In addition to Slim Shady and the “Mr. Brightside” band, Boston Calling’s lineup include a couple more acts reminiscent of the early 2000s including Queens of the Stone Age, The National, and Paramore. Newcomers mostly come from the hip-hop genre, like Khalid, Bryson Tiller and Tyler, the Creator – though even now-solo Tyler rose to fame in that era in the rap collective Odd Future.
Other highlights on the star-studded lineup include Portugal. the Man, St. Vincent, Daniel Caesar, Maggie Rogers, and The Decemberists. A few overseas stars join the festival, too, like UK rapper Stormzy, electronic duo Mount Kimbie, and band Royal Blood, and Russian feminist punk rock group Pussy Riot, who just played their first ever U.S. gig last month in Los Angeles.
The comedy and entertainment lineup is impressive as well, headlined by Harvard alum and director/producer/actress Natalie Portman and comedian/actress/author Jenny Slate, also a MA native. Comedians Cameron Esposito, Bridget Everett, and Jo Firestone and podcasts Lovett or Leave It and Pod Save America will also make appearances.
Three-day General Admission, VIP, and Platinum passes are available now at temporary Early Bird prices of $279, $599, and $1049. A day-to-day lineup and single-day tickets are expected closer to the festival date.
