In a rare break from the dominance of sporting events, Hamilton claimed the top spot in secondary market sales on Tuesday, with the April 20 performance at New York’s Richard Rogers Theatre taking No. 1, according to data provided by TicketClub.com.

The musical sensation, spreading to theatres throughout the country and even in London’s West End, was perhaps buoyed by the announcement of additional dates going on sale for the Broadway staging through Ticketmaster starting next week.

Football, which has been atop the market for much of the recent past, claimed three of the Top 5, with the NFL playoffs divisional round games in Foxborough, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia taking No. 3-4-5 in that order, just behind the BottleRock festival in Napa, California.

Music played a dominant role in the latter half of the rankings on the day, particularly The Eagles, who caught four spots in the rankings for dates in their upcoming tour. Kid Rock, The Killers, Kenny Chesney, Justin Timberlake and Elton John all found spots in the day’s hot list as well.
