“Hollaback Girl” Gwen Stefani announced a 25-date residency in Las Vegas, dubbed as ‘Gwen Stefani – I’m Just a Girl,’ set to kick off this June and run through March 2019.
The residency will take place at Zappos Theater in the Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, set to kick off on June 27. There are three other shows that month, along with nine dates scheduled throughout July, four in December, one in February, and eight next March.
The venue seats 7,000 people and includes features like LED walls and 60 ultra high definition projectors. This is the same venue that a handful of other artists are holding residencies at, including Jennifer Lopez, Backstreet Boys, Pitbull, and Lionel Richie.
A source told ET that the singer had been thinking about doing a residency in Vegas for a long time, claiming that Stefani wanted to make sure her boyfriend Blake Shelton and her three sons would be happy with the decision.
“Blake felt she should take it,” the source told ET. “He wants her to express herself through music and grow as an artist. He thinks it’s a great career move. This is a great opportunity and her fans will love that!”
Stefani explained the residency as an “incredible honor.”
“Growing up in Anaheim, California, I could never have imagined one day having my own Vegas residency,” Stefani said in a statement. “I have been so fortunate to tour throughout my career, but to create a show for Vegas is something I’ve never experienced and I can’t wait.”
Stefani released the holiday album You Make It Feel Like Christmas last fall, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Holiday Album chart. Her fourth studio album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, was released in 2016 and features the single “Used To Love You.”
Residency tickets go on sale this Friday, April 13 and $1 from each ticket purchased will go toward the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation to help provide medical treatment for children with life-threatening conditions.
