The NBA Playoffs commenced this past weekend, taking the top two spots on yesterday’s best-selling events list, according to sales data from Ticket Club.
Sunday’s top-selling games included the Western and Eastern Conference first rounds; the Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-101 and the Indiana Pacers stole the win against the Cleveland Cavaliers 98-80. Other upcoming popular games this week include Saturday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets, which took the No. 1 spot on the list, along with the game between Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow. Multiple hockey games also made the list, as the NHL Conference Quarterfinals began last week.
The No. 5 spot belonged to last night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, which awarded Miranda Lambert as best female vocalist and Chris Stapleton as best male vocalist of the year. Five stars, including Jason Aldean, took a different, somber approach when kicking off the show by paying tribute to those who lost their lives during the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival last October.
In addition to the awards, three-day passes to the second weekend of Coachella sold well, along with tickets to see Journey and Def Leppard, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Kenny Chesney in concert. Lynyrd Skynyrd also made the list for their farewell tour with Bad Company and The Outlaws, along with Beyonce and Jay-Z’s second round of the On The Run Tour.
Hamilton and Kevin Hart’s comedy show were also among the day’s hottest-selling events.
