The 101st edition of the PGA Championship will be held this time next year, and demand was at record levels as ticket registration opened this week. Taking place from May 13-19 at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, the 2018 event registration likely benefited from fans keyed up with this year’s event occurring this weekend, with first round play Thursday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

“We’re just a year away from one of the most extraordinary experiences in golf,” 2019 PGA Championship Chairman Charlie Robson said in a statement. “It’s only fitting that with the move to May, we’re starting this new era by bringing the Championship back to the state of New York, where the PGA of America was founded in 1916.

He explained that the state of New York has supported golf throughout the years, and expects a similar response at the PGA Championship. This competition could set the stage for the 2024 Ryder Cup, which Robson claims should be “one of the most iconic events in New York sporting event history.”

Buy Sell and Go with confidence at StubHub

Although 2019 PGA Championship tickets do not go on sale until August, fans can register now for a place in line to buy tickets on a first come, first served basis once they go on sale. It is suggested to get tickets earlier rather than later since tickets typically sell-out before the event.

In an attempt to further demonstrate its “continuing commitment to growing the game of golf,” PGA will now offer free PGA Championship tickets to fans of ages 17 and younger. Adults are able to bring four juniors onto the grounds for free each day, and registration for these teens and children is not necessary. Additionally, complimentary tickets will be issued to those on active U.S. duty, as well as military retirees, active reserve, National Guard, and Department of Defense civilians, along with their spouses. Tickets for any of these groups will be made available at the Admission and Will Call offices at the main entrance, even if a sell-out occurs.

Week-long packages, upgraded and standard access offerings, as well as daily ticket prices have not been announced yet. However, PGA states that this year they will release further announcements on how to gain exclusive access to 2024 Ryder Cup tickets through a special ticket offering called “Ultimate Wanamaker.” This offering includes two week-long grounds passes, allowing fans to bypassthe standard ticket lottery. Although it does not state how many of these packages are available, they will be limited.

Fans can register for tickets to the 2019 PGA Championship here. The 2024 Ryder Cup will take place in the month of September, but no official dates or tickets have been announced yet.
