The Tony-award winning Broadway show Kinky Boots will make its final appearance on stage next spring.

Since its Broadway debut in 2013 to April 7, 2019, Kinky Boots would have played 34 previews and 2,507 regular performances. The 25th-longest-running show in Main Stem History has earned itself six Tony Awards including Best Musical in 2013 and has grossed $297 million just on Broadway. Aside from the U.S., it has toured throughout Britain, Korea, Canada, Australia, and Japan.

The show and musical, which is based off the 2005 film by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, follows a young man named Charlie Price and his journey taking over his family’s shoe factory. Although he’s not interested in shoes, the factory is failing and he has to lay off several employees. However, before it goes under, Charlie meets a drag queen, who inspires him to start making erotic footwear.

Currently, Mark Ballas plays Charlie and J. Harrison Ghee plays Lola, and last year, Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie took over the role of Charlie for a limited run at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Cyndi Lauper, who wrote all the music for the show, became the first woman to win the Tony for Best Score.

“When we first set out to make this show, we never could have imagined the success it would have here on Broadway and around the world,” co-creators Harvey Fierstein and Lauper said. “We speak on behalf of the entire company when we say how grateful we are to the fans who have embraced our work across four continents, and counting.”

The last U.S. show will take place on April 7, 2019, with the London production wrapping-up its West End run on January 12, 2019.
