Steely Dan To Play Six-Show Residency At New York City’s Beacon Theatre

The classic rockers of Steely Dan will return to New York City’s Beacon Theatre for a six-show residency this fall as a part of their ongoing 2019 tour.

Currently, the group is performing in Las Vegas for a residency in Sin City. Following these gigs, they are slated to take a break over the summer before heading out on the road for more shows mid-August that will run through early September. They’ll kick-off the New York City residency on October 15 and continue with four more shows before wrapping-up on October 22.

During the New York residency shows, the band will perform a different record from their career in its entirety, varying per night. According to a statement from the group, Steely Dan will perform albums like Aja, The Royal Scam, Nightfly, Gaucho, and Greatest Hits, as well as “popular demand performances.” After the Beacon Theatre gigs, they’ll play Boston’s Orpheum Theatre for five nights, a pair of casino shows, and two consecutive concerts at Philadelphia’s The Met.

The rock group, fronted by the lone original member Donald Fagen, rose to fame with ’70s hits like “Reelin’ In The Years,” “Do It Again,” “Dirty Work,” and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number.” Their last studio album, Everything Must Go, was released back in 2003 and followed 2000’s Two Against Nature and Alive In America from 1995. Steely Dan received a Grammy Award for Album of the Year for Two Against Nature and were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
